The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the USA adopted flexible rules regarding short-range radar technology operating in the 57-71 GHz (60 GHz) frequency band on May 18, 2023. Devices using short-range radar technology include radars used in “hot car” sensors, healthcare monitoring devices, and drones used for construction, emergency rescue, and commercial settings. These new rules will create a more efficient timeline for these devices to reach the consumer and commercial marketplace.
