Australia (ACMA) - Low Interference Potential Devices (LIPD) Class License

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) held a public consultation in October 2022 on new arrangements for low interference potential devices (LIPD). On May 23, 2023, ACMA published the outcomes for this consultation and will implement the following to the LIPD Class License:

  • Increasing the existing power limit and allowing outdoor operation of devices operating in the 5150-5250 MHz frequency band

  • Defining “indoors”

  • Implementing out-of-band emission limits for Radio Local Access Network (RLAN) devices that operate in the lower 6 GHz frequency band.
